Grammy® winners and long-time collaborators to Paxton–Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer on stage to lead a celebration of Tom Paxton’s 60-year musical career through a program focused on his songs. Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer are two-time Grammy® Award Winners with a career spanning over 35 years. Their superb harmonies are backed by instrumental virtuosity on the guitar, five-string banjo, ukulele, mandolin, cello-banjo, and more! During the pandemic and since, they engaged in regular songwriting sessions with Tom Paxton and recently released a joint album with him.
Cathy and Marcy will be joined by bassist Ira Gitlin and fiddler Bryan McDowell. Ira Gitlin’s playing ranges far and wide over what’s often called roots music. He has collaborated with musicians including Crowe and McLaughlin, The Johnson Mountain Boys, Bill Kirchen, and Moondi Klein, among many others. Bryan McDowell has supported an elite circle of Nashville heavyweights and recorded on numerous IBMA-winning and Grammy-nominated projects.
Also taking the stage and lending their voices to Paxton’s rich song stylings will be local favorites Susan Greenbaum and George Turman.
Claim your tickets in advance and join us for this outstanding celebration of the songs written by Tom Paxton…many made famous by recording artist Pete Seeger. We look forward to seeing you in the audience!
