Showcasing a treasure trove of hit songs and hidden gems by composer Stephen Schwartz,
Snapshots: A Musical Scrapbook, follows empty-nesters Sue and Dan on a poignant journey through their past,
guided by a box of photographs and the memories the pictures bring to life.
Part revue and part book musical, the play opens with Dan and Sue, who have drifted apart after their son has left for college,
discovering a box of photographs of their life together on the night Sue has planned to leave the marriage.
As the photographs come to life (played by four other actors who portray Dan and Sue at younger phases of
their lives plus other varied people from their past), the pair uncover secrets and surprises about their relationship,
and are given an opportunity to rediscover the love they share for one another, before it’s too late.
The songs are mostly well-known from Schwartz’s shows, but many of the lyrics have been revised by
Mr. Schwartz for this exciting new musical.
