FRENCHY WATERS is seeking THREE actors local to central Virginia for a non-union short film. Filming is expected to take place May 30 through June 1, 2024, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
TAKE MY HAND
LOGLINE: Serial killer seeking a cure for loneliness develops a special relationship with the severed hand of one of his victims, only to discover it points him in the direction of true love.

SEEKING:
TOM – Mid 30s to 40s, male, any ethnicity. A socially awkward, middle-aged sociopath. His face is placid and distant, as he observes the world like a robot or alien. He is quiet, physically uncomfortable, and detail / process-oriented. He seeks to blend into his community by appearing as ordinary as possible. He mimics the activities of suburban life, but isn’t truly fluent in them because their purpose doesn’t fully compute in his mind. He is most at ease when killing, when he is passionate, animated and manic.
Handles prop hatchet. Must be comfortable with fake blood & gore. Engages in torture and violence. Engages in intimate acts with Beulah. Partial nudity (topless) required in intimate and non-intimate scenes.
Role requires singing. While professional experience is not required, the actor must be comfortable and capable of carrying a tune.
Shoots 3 days – $100/day – May 30 through June 1, 2024 (safety dates June 6-9)
BEULAH – Mid 20s to mid 30s, female, any ethnicity. Vibrant, pixie-ish and playful. She obscures a dark, sociopath side by exuding confidence and joyfulness. She is a hunter with a mastery of her prey and her craft. She takes charge and exudes control. She knows what she wants and how to do it.
Handles prop knives. Must be comfortable with fake blood, wound makeup, gore. Engages in torture and violence. Engages in intimate acts with Tom. Implied nudity required in intimate scenes.
Role requires singing. While professional experience is not required, the actor must be comfortable and capable of carrying a tune.

FATHER – Mid 30s to mid 40s, male, any ethnicity. Deluded suburban dad appears to be living the American dream. Married and raising his only child in a safe, affluent suburb. He’s more concerned about paying attention to his phone than his surroundings, even as he tries to cope with the terror of being abducted. The actor should be able to convey pain and shock vividly.
Must be comfortable with fake blood, wound makeup, gore, and having hands tied up. Implied torture and violence. Must be comfortable smoking prop joints.
Shoots 2 days – $75/day – May 30 & June 1, 2024 (safety dates June 6-9)
