Goochland Community Theatre is excited to have the opportunity to put on The Addams Family Musical. This cast will be a fun mix of adults and children. Please RSVP below so we have an idea of who to expect for each audition day. You will be sent an email reminder the weekend before the auditions.

Auditions will take place on Monday July 8th and Tuesday July 9th at 6:30 at Central High Cultural and Educational Center – 2748 Dogtown Rd, Goochland, VA 23063. You are only required to come to one day of the auditions. We will do invitation only call backs on Thursday July 11th at 6:30. If you do not get invited to call backs it does NOT mean that you didn’t get a part. We are using call backs to see how certain actors play off each other if we were unable to see them together during their first rehearsal

If you are unable to attend either of these audition days you can submit a video audition to the director email address above. Video auditions can be submitted anytime but must be received before July 8th. You will receive an email confirmation for your submission within 24 hours. How to prepare for your audition:

Acting – No need to prepare! We will have sides available at auditions.

Singing – Prepare two songs, an up tempo and a ballad. You should prepare to sing 16 bars of each or 30-45 seconds. You will be asked to pick one of the two to sing at the audition but be prepared to sing the second. Please bring a track for your audition. Finally, be prepared to sing acapella if our musical director asks.

Advice: When picking a song, you should find something that shows off the best parts of your voice. Find a song that you can connect to and dig in to those words to enhance your performance. When rehearsing your audition, listen and sing along to the original performer as a reference before making it your own (sparingly). Try not to pick something that is too fast, ex: ‘Not Getting Married Today’ from Company or ‘Satisfied‘ from Hamilton. Lastly, make sure you know your song at the audition.

About the show: THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family– a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before– keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
